My daughter is 5 this year. Here she's with a little make up on as she had a rehearsal for her kindergarten concert. Children grow up very, very fast. Any time spent with her is a joy.

Sensei is Japanese for teacher. My Ph.D supervisor Prof Emeritus Dr Yoshiaki Maita. My host for my trip to Sapporo and also my 'advisor/mentor/friend' Associate Prof Dr Isao Kudo.I think i learnt a lot from this trip. I just hope i will remember the things i learnt :)

I went to Hakodate last weekend. I did my Ph.D at the Faculty of Fisheries, Hakodate, and spent about three and a half years there. I had a fun time doing my Ph.D, so it was kind of sentimental to go back there. The town still looks beautiful. Attached are the night views of the town from Mount Hakodate. Reported to be the top three night views of the world.

During the Chinese New Year 2009 celebrations, we went back to Penang, and had a reunion of old La Sallians. We all entered the same primary one in 1977, 32 years ago. Isn't that just crazy :D Some i haven't met in over 20 years. However it was really nice to see old classmates again. How everyone took different paths in life, and took the effort to meet up. I felt happy and good to see them again. Thanks to all La Sallians there.

In that order :) Taichi and Gakushi, labmates when i was doing my Ph.D. It was really great to see them again. My favourite food in Japan, delicious and affordable kaiten sushi. In the photo, sea urchin sushi. Sushi king / Sakae / Genki etc have a long way to go.

Didnt go anywhere but to the lab everyday. Anyway the cherry blossoms were in their full bloom early May.

Basically means it has been a long time since i was last in Sapporo. Maybe 9 years have past.It was still snowing late April. Last heavy snowfall.
